Free Spirit Woods Drumming, Fluting and Archery Weekend

Hi All We had a great drumming, fluting and archery weekend on 27th - 29th April. The weather was very kind to us and the sun dappled through the new growth on the trees most of the weekend. We have attached some photos..... hope you enjoy. Sorry there are no photos or clips of the fluting and drumming, we got a bit carried away and forgot to get the camera out and switch the video camera on! Not very good at this technology stuff! If you fancy coming to one of our weekend courses, workshops, events or experience a treatment - check out our website Free Spirit

We had three tipi's up and a canvas bell tent, so it all looked rather traditional without any modern nylon. Although a bit nippy the first night, it was pleasant waking up in the tipee, with the floor covered in rugs and the fire still going, keeping the chill off.

Archery was good fun. Out of the 8 or so people doing it - half of them had never done it before and did'nt do badly at all. We only lost a couple of arrows!! Cant say they will make the cast of the next remake of Robin Hood mind you. It is a little addictive though as a couple of would be archers are determined to come back next month and have another go.

The next event is the drum making workshop on the 25th May. (Saturday) Learn to make a traditional skin drum of your own. We supply lunch and all materials. You just bring your imagination and concentration. Its very cathartic doing craft work in the open woodland. Contact us on 01707 334303 if you would like to book a place.

Our woodland base. The tipi is lovely for looking at the stars at night and sleeping around a wood fire. Very snug when the weather turns. One of the bases we use for our Woodland Reiki weekend courses and Native American philosophy workshops. Good energy!

Welcome

Hello and welcome to Free Spirit

Hi! I am Beverly Chappell and not very good at writing diary notes...... but to serve as a short introduction here goes. I am 40 something and my husband John is very 40 something! We enjoy the simple things in life - our kids, our dogs, food, wine, whiskey and watching rugby - definite bar stool players! We run a small holistic and woodland activity, therapy and course business from Welwyn Garden City and from our woodland outside Newport Pagnell. We enjoy working and camping in the woods - soaking up nature in a peaceful way. Between us we offer aromatherapy, massage, reiki, archery, nlp (neuro linguistic programming) to private and corporate clients, as well as courses in the same disciplines along with Native American Philosphy workshops.
